Miss Joanne Ha began her study of speech pathology in the Cumberland College of Health Sciences (Sydney University) in 1983 under the Government scholarship. Following her graduation in 1987, she became a pioneer in the HK speech pathology profession. She practiced in the HK Association for the Mentally Handicapped until 1991, when she worked as a clinical supervisor in the HKU Speech and Hearing Sciences Department. She finished her Master in Education in 1992 and opened her private clinic in the same year.

Working privately, Miss Ha gained the opportunities to come into contact with a wide variety of speech & language clients who were also found to have multi-area deficits, such as balance, attention, cognition etc. Seeing the importance of neurological involvement in the developmental disorder populations, Miss Ha began her study of Post. Grad Cert. Psychology in the HKU in 2004 and in the same year went to US to study sensory integration. After her graduation in 2006, Miss Ha added neurology and cognitive psychology into her treatment and became a rare speech pathologist and sensory integration therapist.

With the wider scope of service, Miss Ha has the vision of emotions and family interactions pose inevitable influence to the effectiveness of treatment. She made an innovative move to the psychotherapy profession. Until 2012, she acquired the Master of Counselling and Child Psychotherapy Graduate Diploma from Monash University of Australia. She is a NLP practitioner, Somatic Experiencing (for trauma healing) practitioner. She is now a pioneer speech pathologist, sensory integration therapist and psychotherapist providing treatment for different client types.

Since the beginning of her professional life, Miss Ha has been hoping that she could contribute herself to China. Her first attempt in providing training in China was in 2003. Until March 2011, she established the “Joanne Ha Speech Pathology Beijing”, providing professional service for Mainland China people and realized her dream.

Miss Ha made her endeavors in pursuing knowledge in different fields. She wishes to bring the therapy gain excitement to the clients and their families. In these years, she has never stopped seeing clients in spite of the numerous studies because clients are her motivation to proceed further, and further!
