Puberphonia is the persistence of adolescent voice even after puberty in the absence of organic cause.

Features:

  • Unusually high pitched voice persisting beyond puberty.
  • This usually happens to boys than girls.

Assessment of causes, which could be functional or psychogenic is needed. Psychotherapy combined with traditional symptomatic voice therapy is effective.
